

ZANELE TWALA
Zanele Twala’s career reflects her passion for and commitment to education. She joins the Foundation from the office of the Presidency of the Republic of South Africa, where she has spent the past three years as director and sector expert in charge of national Early Childhood Development policy formation in the National Planning Commission.
This policy was adopted by Cabinet in December 2015. Zanele’s previous roles were at Bridge Innovation in Learning where she was the Executive Director (Bridge is an education focused non-profit organisation in South Africa that links innovators in education, including representatives from civil society, government, funders, practitioners, teachers, learners, principals, parent’s research organisations and unions), as Country Director for Action Aid South Africa, and as Executive Director at SANGOCO.
She has also worked in the Department of Labour and Department of Education, Wits and the Independent Examinations Board.
